The leader of the Holiness of Christ Zion Ministry, Prophet Fire Oja, has openly challenged the government’s new policy requiring religious leaders to submit prophecies for official review. He insists that before such a directive can be enforced, the state should cover transportation expenses for prophets.

Speaking in an interview with Nana Romeo on Okay FM, he stressed that many spiritual leaders lack the financial resources to travel to the Jubilee House to share their revelations in person.

“If the government says we should come to the Jubilee House with our prophecies, they should also give us car money and fuel. Not all of us can afford to travel there. If they want to hear it in person, they should take care of our transport,” he said.

His remarks follow a recent directive from the Office of the Presidential Envoy for Interfaith and Ecumenical Relations, which calls on religious leaders nationwide to submit any prophecy or spiritual message of national importance for urgent evaluation.

Presidential Envoy Elvis Afriyie Ankrah explained that the policy aims to promote “responsibility, discernment, and proper stewardship over the nation’s destiny, particularly in these uncertain times.” The review will focus on prophecies concerning top political figures, governance issues, national security, and public stability.

“We are not trying to stop the work of God, but we believe prophecies must be handled with care so they do not cause unnecessary fear, panic, or instability,” Ankrah stated in an August 10, 2025, release.

In the aftermath of a helicopter crash that claimed the lives of government officials, military officers, and NDC executives, the envoy also urged churches and other faith institutions to intensify prayers for the nation’s leadership, state bodies, and grieving families.

“In moments like this, unity and prayer are more important than ever. We ask all faith leaders to stand with us for the peace and stability of Ghana,” he pleaded.
