Prophet Ogyaba, popularly known as Prophet Fire Oja, founder of the Holiness of Christ Zion Ministry, has pushed back against the government’s new directive for religious leaders to submit prophecies for review, insisting that the state must provide car and fuel money for prophets before expecting them to comply.

Speaking in an interview shared on social media, Prophet Fire Oja argued that not all prophets have the financial means to travel to the Jubilee House to disclose their spiritual revelations.

“If the government says we should come to the Jubilee House with our prophecies, they should also give us car money and fuel. Not all of us can afford to travel there. If they want to hear it in person, they should take care of our transport,” he stressed.

His comments come after the Office of the Presidential Envoy for Interfaith and Ecumenical Relations issued a directive urging religious leaders across Ghana to formally submit any prophecy or spiritual insight of national significance for urgent review.

According to Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, the Presidential Envoy, the move is to ensure “responsibility, discernment, and proper stewardship over the nation’s destiny, particularly in these uncertain times.”

The directive targets prophecies relating to high-profile political leaders, governance, national security, or public stability.

“We are not trying to stop the work of God, but we believe prophecies must be handled with care so they do not cause unnecessary fear, panic, or instability,” Afriyie Ankrah stated in an August 10, 2025, release.

The Presidential Envoy also called for fervent prayers for the President, the government, state institutions, bereaved families and the nation in the wake of the recent helicopter crash that claimed the lives of government officials, military personnel, and NDC party executives.

“In moments like this, unity and prayer are more important than ever. We ask all faith leaders to stand with us for the peace and stability of Ghana,” he appealed.
