Black Stars captain Andre Ayew joined mourners in Accra on Sunday for Muslim prayers in honour of two victims of the August 6 helicopter crash.

The ceremony, led by National Chief Imam Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, was held for Dr Alhaji Ibrahim Mohammed Murtala Muhammed, MP for Tamale Central and Minister for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation, and Alhaji Muniru Limuna Mohammed, Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator.

Ayew, who is currently in Ghana as he considers his next move after parting ways with French club Le Havre, was among a high-profile gathering that included President John Dramani Mahama, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, ministers of state, Members of Parliament, religious leaders, and institutional heads.

The two victims were later laid to rest at the Military Cemetery in Accra.
