Stand-up comedian OB Amponsah has paid tribute to Flying Officer Mane Twum-Ampadu, one of the victims of the tragic military helicopter crash on August 6, 2025, that claimed the lives of eight Ghanaian state officials.

In a Facebook post, OB Amponsah described the young pilot as one of the best in the country, adding that his death is a huge loss to both the Ghana Air Force and the nation.

“Flying Officer Mane Twum-Ampadu, recently hailed as one of Ghana’s finest young pilots, has tragically died in the Obuasi military helicopter crash. A proud son of the Takoradi Air Force Base, his passing marks a heartbreaking loss for the Ghana Air Force and the nation,” OB Amponsah wrote.

Flying Officer Mane Twum-Ampadu was among eight people who died when the military helicopter went down at Adansi Akrofuom in the Ashanti Region. The crash also claimed the lives of several top government officials.
