Executive Chairman of the Jospong Group of Companies, Dr Joseph Siaw Agyepong, has expressed profound sorrow over the August 6 helicopter crash that claimed the lives of eight prominent Ghanaians.

In a statement titled “We Join the Rest of Ghana in Mourning”, Dr Agyepong described the incident as “a heartbreaking loss — to their families, to the Government, and to the Nation they served with honour and distinction.”

The victims included Defence Minister Dr Edward Kofi Omane Boamah; Environment Minister Alhaji Dr Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed; Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator Alhaji Muniru Mohammed Limuna; former Central Regional Minister Samuel Sarpong; former parliamentary candidate and NADMO Deputy Director-General Samuel Aboagye; Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala; Flying Officer Manaen (Amaning) Twum Ampadu; and Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah.

“Ghana has lost true patriots,” Dr. Agyepong said, extending the Jospong Group’s “deepest condolences to the bereaved families” and assuring them that the company’s thoughts and prayers were with them during this difficult time.

The crash, which occurred in Adansi Akrofuom in the Ashanti Region, has plunged the nation into mourning. A state funeral has been scheduled for August 15, 2025, at Black Star Square in Accra.
