A former military officer, thought to be in his early 50s, was discovered dead in his room at Fiifi Down, a neighborhood in Nyanyano Kakraba, located in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region.
The community of Fiifi Down was left stunned after finding the ex-serviceman lifeless and unclothed in his living area.
According to police reports, residents alerted authorities after detecting a foul smell emanating from his home. The deceased, identified locally as W.O., was confirmed dead upon their arrival.
Due to the advanced state of decomposition, Environmental Health Officers from the Gomoa East District Assembly fumigated the house. Meanwhile, police from the Central East Regional Command, along with military personnel, have transported the body to the Police Hospital morgue as investigations commence.
