On July 29, 2025, the family of late Highlife legend Daddy Lumba opened a book of condolence to the public, allowing loved ones to pay their final respects.

Since then, many notable personalities have visited the late singer’s private residence to sign the book and share their memories.

However, a video that surfaced on social media on August 1, 2025, showed Prophet Nicholas Osei, popularly known as Kumchacha, appearing to copy another person’s tribute while attempting to write his own.

In an interview on Onua FM, shared on the station’s social media platforms on August 8, 2025, Kumchacha clarified what actually happened that day.

According to him, it is not wrong to learn from someone who knows more than you, adding that even Ghana learns from other nations.

He explained that when he first opened the book, he mistakenly wrote a message wishing Daddy Lumba a long life, something clearly inappropriate for someone who had passed away.

A person standing nearby corrected him, advising that he should instead write something positive about the late singer.

The man of God added that he had even considered using his thumbprint in the book instead of signing his name because that was what he was most comfortable with.

“In this world, if you don’t know something, you learn. Even in Ghana, we learn from America and the UK. I didn’t even notice I was being recorded. The mistake I made was wishing ‘long live’ in the Book of Condolence for the deceased.

“Someone pointed out to me that we don’t write ‘long live’ for a person who has passed away. They informed me that I should write something good about the person instead. Unfortunately, I couldn’t think of anything positive to write. In the end, I just wrote my name and signed it.

“I even considered using my thumbprint as a signature, but there was no option for that. In fact, I usually stamp with my thumb when I go to the bank,” Kumchacha said.
