    Ghana Premier League giant, Asante Kotoko has reacted to the death of their supporters, Dr Omane Boamah and Dr Samuel Sarpong who lost their lives alongside 6 others who perished in a helicopter crash on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.

    The crash of the Ghana Armed Forces’s Z9 helicopter claimed the lives of eight individuals, including top government officials and military personnel.

    Asante Kotoko took to their social media pages to mourn with the entire country and extended it condolences to the President, the Government of Ghana, and the families of the victims of the tragic military helicopter crash.

    “Asante Kotoko SC mourns the tragic loss of our cherished fans, Dr Omane Boamah and former KMA boss Dr. Samuel Sarpong, and six others in today’s Akrofuom plane crash. We extend our deepest condolences to their families and the nation. May their souls rest in peace,” Asante Kotoko posted on their X page sighted by GhanaWeb Sports.

    The victims include Dr. Edward Kofi Omane Boamah, Minister of Defence, Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, Minister of Environment, Alhaji Mohammed Muniru Limuna, Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator, Samuel Sarpong, Former Central Regional Minister, Samuel Aboagye, Former Parliamentary Candidate, Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala, Flying Officer Malin Twum-Ampadu and Sergent Ernest Addo Mensah.
