Dr Tanko Rashid-Computer, the Acting CEO of the Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications (GIFEC), has weighed in on the ongoing controversy involving Shatta Wale and the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) regarding a car.

This was addressed in an interview with TV3 on the NewDay Show.

Dr Rashid-Computer shared a personal experience, stating that a friend unknowingly drove a stolen vehicle for two years.

“Some vehicles people buy can come from questionable sources, and we need to be careful when purchasing a car. In Shatta’s case, he mentioned that he paid for the car without knowing it was stolen. I like Shatta very much, and, unfortunately, he is in this situation. I heard him explain on live that he bought the car without any knowledge of its background or source; he simply went ahead with the purchase,” he said.

He urged the public to conduct thorough due diligence before making any vehicle purchase, highlighting the importance of verifying a car’s history to avoid similar issues.

“This is a serious matter. I feel sorry for Shatta as he navigates this situation,” he concluded.
