Identifying when someone is going through a difficult phase can be challenging, as they may not always recognize it themselves.

Often, it is the people around them who notice changes in behaviour or appearance.

To identify these changes, it is important to look out for things that are out of the ordinary for such a person.

For example, a normally outgoing person who becomes quiet or withdrawn may be struggling with emotional issues.

Also, it is said that changes in appearance, such as shaving one’s hair could also be indicative of underlying emotional trauma.

This is according to Doctor Kwasi Antwi Koranteng who also said in some cases, people may use physical pain as a way to cope with emotional pain.

According to Dr Koranteng, self-harming acts such as tattoos and piercings can be a cry for help.

He said by paying attention to these changes and being aware of the signs, one can offer support and help to those who may be struggling.

According to Dr. Koranteng, It is crucial to approach these situations with empathy and understanding, rather than judgment or indifference.
