Mikel Arteta has supervised a huge overhaul of the Arsenal squad since he became the Gunners’ manager in 2019 but despite spending heavily in the transfer market, he is yet to produce trophies.

According to Transfermarket, Arsenal have spent over £1 billion under Mikel Arteta but can only boast of one major trophy, the FA Cup they won in 2019 against Chelsea.

Since Mikel Arteta took over as Arsenal’s manager in December 2019, the club’s hierarchy has actively supported his project with significant investments in the transfer window, aiming to restore the team’s competitiveness and success.

Arteta took Arsenal to glory in the FA Cup in his debut season at the helm.

He also oversaw a Premier League title challenge in 2022/23 which returned the club to the Champions League for the first time since 2016/17 and finished second again as Liverpool became champions of England in the 2024/25 season.

Few clubs across Europe have spent more than Arsenal since Arteta took over as manager and with some notable additions in this transfer window, taking his total number of signings to 40, according to TransferMarket.

The Spaniard lured Declan Rice of West Ham United, Kai Havertz from Chelsea, Jurrien Timber from AFC Ajax, and also David Raya from Brentford.

With the Premier League about to begin, Arteta has reinforced his team with the addition of Christian Norgaard from Brentford, Noni Madueke from Chelsea, and Viktor Gyokeres also joining from Sporting CP.

But not all of Arteta’s signings since taking over at Emirates Stadium have been productive additions.

Some of his signings are not even in North London any longer, as they have already moved on.

Here are all of Arteta’s 40 signings at Arsenal from 2019-2025
