In a serene moment that has warmed hearts online, Ghanaian football legend Abedi Ayew ‘Pele’ was captured leading his family in a special Jummah (Friday congregational) prayer session on Friday, August 1, 2025.

The short video, originally shared by content creator officialmeatpie18 on Instagram, shows the iconic former Ghana captain walking calmly alongside his sons and grandchildren as they made their way to the mosque.

Dressed in pristine attire, Abedi exuded humility and quiet dignity, a far cry from the fiery midfield dynamo who once dazzled the world on the pitch.

Now a revered elder both in Ghanaian football and within his community, the 1993 African Footballer of the Year was seen entering the mosque compound with his family in orderly fashion.

The Ayew family, one of the most famous footballing dynasties in Africa, has long been in the public eye, from Abedi’s legendary days with Olympique Marseille, to his sons André and Jordan Ayew, who continue to carry the family’s legacy for club and country.
