Member of Parliament for Klottey-Korle, Dr Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, has condemned the fatal stabbing of a student at Kinbu Senior High School.

She has described the incident as both tragic and senseless.

The incident, which occurred on Thursday, July 31, 2025, claimed the life of 15-year-old first-year student, Addib Alhassan.

According to preliminary reports, the fatal altercation took place following a heated argument between Addib and a classmate.

During the confrontation, Addib was stabbed and sustained critical injuries.

He was rushed to the Adabraka Polyclinic and later transferred to the Ridge Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

In a statement issued on Friday, August 1, Dr Agyeman-Rawlings expressed deep sorrow over the incident and has pledged her support to ensure justice is served.

“I strongly condemn this act of violence, and I will collaborate with the Ghana Police Service and other relevant authorities to ensure that thorough investigations are swiftly conducted and that justice is served,” she said.

The MP emphasised that schools must remain safe spaces for learning and development.

She called on education and security authorities to urgently review and reinforce safety protocols across all educational institutions.

She described the incident as a wake-up call to all stakeholders.

“This tragedy must be a wake-up call for all stakeholders in the education and security sectors to prevent such incidents from recurring,” she indicated.

Dr Agyeman-Rawlings also extended her condolences to the family of the deceased, as well as the students, staff, and the entire Kinbu SHS community.

She emphasised the importance of mental health and emotional support systems in preventing future occurrences.

Meanwhile, the Ghana Police Service has not yet released full details of the incident, as investigations remain ongoing.

No arrests have been confirmed at this stage.
