The Bank Hospital has denied claims made by socialite Valentina Nana Agyeiwaa, popularly known as Afia Schwarzenegger, that the facility did not treat the late Highlife legend Charles Kwadwo Fosu, also known as Daddy Lumba, with professionalism before his death.

In a press statement released on July 30, 2025, the hospital labelled Afia Schwarzenegger’s claims as false and clarified that the late musician received professional and dignified medical care during his time at the facility.

The response came after Afia Schwarzenegger took to social media to allege that the hospital may have mishandled aspects of Daddy Lumba’s care and breached confidentiality.

The Bank Hospital refuted those accusations. According to the hospital, there was no breach of medical privacy or any violation of patient confidentiality.

They noted that Daddy Lumba’s care was managed with full professionalism and that his family was informed and involved throughout the entire process.

    The full statement read:

“The Bank Hospital joins the nation in mourning the loss of music legend Charles Kwadwo Fosu, affectionately known as Daddy Lumba, who sadly passed away at our facility on 26th July 2025. Our hearts go out to his family, loved ones, the government, and fans around the world during this time of sorrow.

In response to false claims circulating online, particularly from Ms. Valentina Nana Agyeiwaa (Afia Schwarzenegger), suggesting a breach of Mr. Fosu’s medical confidentiality, we wish to clarify:

    * No breach of Mr. Fosu’s medical privacy or confidentiality occurred.

    * His care was handled with professionalism, dignity, and strict confidentiality.

    * His family was involved every step of the way.

As one of Africa’s leading private healthcare institutions, The Bank Hospital remains committed to the highest ethical standards. A formal review of all events before, during, and after his care is underway to ensure continual improvement.

We urge the public to seek and share only verified information from credible sources.”

The hospital’s statement comes as the country mourns the passing of Daddy Lumba, a music legend whose legacy spans for almost four decades.

The late singer passed away on July 26, 2025, at The Bank Hospital.
