Former Highly Spiritual Music signee Yaw Berk has accused Mr Drew of failing to credit collaborators who contribute to his songs.

In a post on X dated July 30, 2025, Yaw Berk claimed he wrote Mr Drew’s hit song “Later” but was never acknowledged for his contribution.

According to Yaw Berk, this isn’t the first time Mr Drew has overlooked giving credit to those who help shape his music.

“My boy, jx give credits and move on. I did ‘Later’ for you no credit, Eugene did that your ‘bra panin ee’ song for you it became a banter btn ya’ll. Now @GhDopeNation is telling their part of the story & you wanna tune them down. Bu adeɛ kakra Andrew, na wo deɛ ne asa!,” he wrote.

Yaw Berk’s post came after DopeNation claimed in an interview on the Headless YouTuber’s channel that they co-wrote and produced Mr Drew’s hit song ‘This Year’ but were never given credit.

According to DopeNation, Mr Drew came to their studio with a few incomplete lyrics and no structure for the song.

They said they guided him through the process, helped shape the lyrics, and produced the song, but were not acknowledged for their input when the song was released.

The twin brothers also alleged that singer Sefa did the same thing after they worked on one of her songs.

They said it has become a common practice in the industry for artistes to downplay the role of songwriters and producers once a song becomes successful.

Mr Drew responded to DopeNation’s claims in a post on X, writing that they should not disrespect his brand.
