Ghanaian musician Francine Kouffie, popularly known as Fantana, joined her family at Parliament on Friday July 25, 2025, to show support for her mother, Dorcas Affo-Toffey, during her vetting as Deputy Minister for Transport.

Videos trending on social media captured Fantana arriving at her mother’s office dressed elegantly in a sleek black dress, accompanied by her sister, who wore a brown and white outfit.

The sisters were seen warmly greeting their mother before accompanying her into the vetting chamber, drawing attention across both traditional and social media platforms.

During the vetting, the Jomoro MP addressed key transportation challenges facing the country.

She revealed that only four out of ten electric buses imported into Ghana are currently operational due to issues with the charging systems.

She also pledged to collaborate with the sector minister to ensure the remaining buses become functional.

Affo-Toffey also underscored the urgent need to reduce road accidents, noting that human factors account for nearly 80% of crashes.

She proposed strict enforcement of traffic regulations, broader public education, improved emergency response systems, better road signage, and the installation of speed detection cameras as key strategies to enhance road safety.
