The Happy Man Foundation, a charitable arm inspired by the popular Happy Man Bitters brand, has officially handed over a fully completed borehole facility to the people of Kalbeo-Avolebisi in the Bolgatanga Municipality of the Upper East Region. The commissioning ceremony marked a significant milestone in the foundation’s mission to improve access to clean and safe water in underserved communities.

Delivering the keynote address, Mr. Atanga Alex, Public Relations Officer for the Northern Territory, emphasized that the borehole project is more than just a water solution — it represents improved health, dignity, and new opportunities for the beneficiary community.

“This initiative aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 6 — ensuring access to clean water and sanitation for all,” Mr. Alex stated. “The Happy Man Foundation is not just offering support, but delivering lasting impact through practical, community-centered solutions.”

The newly commissioned borehole is expected to drastically reduce waterborne illnesses, ease the daily burden on women and children who often travel long distances for water, and support household and agricultural needs in Kalbeo-Avolebisi.

Assembly Member for the Kalbeo Electoral Area, Mr. Sonny Ayariga, expressed deep appreciation to the foundation, saying, “This brings an end to years of water-related challenges. We’re truly grateful to the CEO and the entire team for remembering and responding to our plight.”

Godwin Akapire, a representative of the Chief of Kalbeo, also lauded the gesture and appealed for continued support in other areas of development within the community.

Mr. Alex concluded the event by urging community members to take ownership of the facility and maintain it for future generations. He also hinted at upcoming development projects from the Happy Man Foundation, with a focus on youth empowerment and improved sanitation.

The borehole project stands as a symbol of sustainable progress — a reminder that with partnerships and purpose, real change is possible.
