Ghana midfielder Stella Nyamekye has opened up on the team’s readiness for the third-place playoff match against South Africa at the 2024 CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

Speaking ahead of the battle for bronze, the Black Queens youngster noted that the team has prepared mentally in anticipation of what will be a tough contest.

She further assured Ghanaians that the Black Queens will perform well in the match on Friday.

“We have mentally equipped ourselves for this game after undertaking the essential training, and we are set to perform on Friday,” Stella Nyamekye said as quoted on the Ghana FA website.

In the pre-match interview, the Black Queens midfielder expressed appreciation to coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren for giving opportunities to the young players in his squad at the WAFCON.

“First and foremost, I want to extend my gratitude to the coach for the chance he has provided us, the younger players. We have gained a lot from the senior team members, and we continue to learn and develop,” she remarked.
