    Melcom’s 2025 Blood Drive launched with expanded school participation

    Managing Director of the Melcom Joint Group of Companies, Ramesh Sadhwani, has announced that this year’s Blood Donation Exercise will take place at 30 designated locations, including selected schools and retail outlets, with strong support from the National Blood Service.

    Speaking at the official launch of the Blood Donation Exercise on July 21, 2025, he revealed that, for the first time, four schools have been added as venues to extend the reach of the initiative.

    “For the first time, we’re adding four schools as venues to expand our reach,” he said.

    According to him, the blood donation exercise in the designated schools will begin on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, while 13 Melcom outlets nationwide will host their drives on Thursday, July 24. 2025.

    Additionally, stores located inside major shopping malls will conduct their activities on Saturday, July 26, 2025.

    He noted that the exercise will run daily from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and all donors will undergo medical screening conducted by qualified health professionals.

    “Donors are our heroes, and we’re making sure they’re properly cared for. There are packages prepared for each person who donates, and we want to assure the public that the process will be safe and well-coordinated,” he stated.

    Sadhwani also applauded the dedication of Melcom staff across the country, whose consistent support has contributed to the success of the company’s annual blood drives.

    He concluded by encouraging all Ghanaians to participate, emphasising the critical need to stock blood banks across the country.
