The thanksgiving service for Nana Ampofowaa Mpradwoa Yeboa, Newly Installed Queen Mother of Assin Nsuta and Benkumhemaa of the Apimanim Traditional Area, was held today at a ceremony attended by dignitaries, chiefs, and community members. The event was graced by the presence of Oheneba Owusu Korkor, Otumfuo Asamponghene.

In her address, Queen Mother Nana Ampofowaa expressed gratitude to the Almighty God for the abundant blessings bestowed upon her. She also thanked the Nananom and elders for entrusting her with the noble role of Queen Mother.

“I stand here today to give Him all the adoration and praise,” she said. “I am deeply grateful to each of you for joining me on this momentous day.”

The Queen Mother paid tribute to her predecessors, including Nana Berefuor Apenteng II, Chief of Assin Nsuta and Benkumhene of Apimanim Traditional Area, who passed away 20 years ago, and Nana Pokuaa II, the late Queen Mother of Assin Nsuta and Benkumhemaa of Apimanim Traditional Area, who passed away three years ago. She acknowledged their remarkable legacies and sought eternal peace for their souls.

Nana Ampofowaa outlined her vision for Assin Nsuta, focusing on community development and empowerment. She emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration among the chiefs and citizens of Nsuta.

“We must work together to develop Nsuta,” she said. “I am committed to working with the chiefs and citizens of Nsuta, both at home and in the diaspora, to bring progress to our community.”

The Queen Mother’s initiative prioritizes the development of the girl child and women’s empowerment. She outlined a holistic approach centered on four key areas: upbringing, education, vocational and skills development, and empowerment and advocacy.

“My mission is clear: to drive the development of Nsuta by focusing on the empowerment of girls,” she declared. “I firmly believe that every girl deserves the opportunity to reach her fullest potential.”

Under the upbringing pillar, the Queen Mother’s initiative aims to promote safe and loving environments for girls. The education pillar will focus on ensuring access to quality education for all girls, while the vocational and skills development pillar will provide practical training in fields like technology and agriculture. The empowerment and advocacy pillar will equip girls with knowledge of their rights and encourage active participation in decision-making.

Nana Ampofowaa extended an invitation to all to support her initiative, which is set to launch soon. She expressed gratitude to those who supported her journey and looked forward to collective efforts in developing Assin Nsuta.

“We will need your support – whether as volunteers sharing knowledge, mentors inspiring youth, partners understanding community dynamics, or donors providing crucial resources,” she said.

The Queen Mother’s vision and leadership are expected to bring positive change and development to the community. Her commitment to empowering girls and promoting community development has generated excitement and hope among the people of Nsuta.
