Ambassador Nancy Q Sam, a prominent figure in Ghana’s tourism and women empowerment space, has been honoured with the prestigious Ghana 100 Trailblazers Award for her exceptional leadership and advocacy in promoting gender equality and sustainable tourism development.
The ceremony, held at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel on Friday, July 11, 2025, brought together distinguished personalities, industry leaders, and changemakers, some diplomatic corps, under the theme “Celebration of Innovation and Creativity.”
The Ghana 100 Trailblazers Awards celebrate individuals who are redefining systems, fostering innovation, and leading impactful initiatives in their respective fields.
Ambassador Sam, who serves as the Tourism Ambassador for Miami, Florida, in the USA, is also the President of Women in Tourism Ghana, and Vice President Of The ECOWAS Tourism Private Sector Confederation.
She was recognized for her unwavering commitment to empowering women in tourism and for playing a key role in promoting and bringing high-level inbound tourism and diaspora to Ghana, reshaping industry narratives to be more inclusive and sustainable.
The Ghana 100 Trailblazers Awards and Conference is an annual platform that celebrates bold ideas, breakthrough thinking, and individuals driving meaningful change.
This year’s event highlighted trailblazers across various sectors, including business, technology, education, and public service. and the diplomatic corps.
Among the attendees were some of the ambassadors who supported Ambassador Nancy in receiving the award, including the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, H.E. Maher Kheir, who is also the Ambassador of the Republic of Lebanon to Ghana.
The Dean of the Diplomatic Corps is the senior-most member of the diplomatic community in a country, Suriname Ambassador H.E. Fidelia Graand-Galon, Ambassador H.E. Deputy Ambassador to Zambia H.E.
