Parliament House of Ghana Parliament House of Ghana

The Parliament of Ghana has announced a new directive regarding visitor access to Parliament House, effective immediately.

According to a statement signed by David Sebastian Damoah, Director of the Media Relations Department, all visitors and stakeholders seeking access to Parliament are now required to use the Ceremonial Gate, located opposite the Accra International Conference Center (AICC).

“The Parliament of Ghana respectfully announces to the general public that, with immediate effect, the Rt. Hon. Speaker Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin has directed that all visitors and other stakeholders to Parliament House are to use the Ceremonial Gate (opposite the Accra International Conference Center (AICC)) to access the precincts of Parliament,” the statement read.

The statement further added that visitors will be guided through appropriate processing, including verification and confirmation of the purpose of their visit.

“The general public is expected to note that upon arrival, visitors will be directed to the Visitors’ Center for appropriate processing, verification, and confirmation of the purpose of their visit to Parliament House,” it stated.

The directive, according to Parliament, is part of measures aimed at improving security and streamlining visitor management.

“Kindly note that this directive is intended to enhance security, streamline visitor management, and maintain order in the operational flow within the precincts of Parliament,” the statement concluded.
