    Former GBA President Abraham Neequaye gets government appointment

    The former President of the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA), Abraham Neequaye, has been appointed as a Board member of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP).

    In an official flyer released by the body, Owusu Nkrumah Ababio will serve as the board chair while other members include Eric Adjei, Dr Crispin Wienna, Elizabeth Ofosu Mensah, Member of Parliament Dickson Kyere-Duah, Ewurabena Aubynn, Dr Beatrice Tsotso Adom, and Katherine Oduro.

    The team will be tasked with facilitating the growth of the innovation and entrepreneurship program to aid businesses in booming in the country.

    Their services will include developing support, incubation programs, and funding to foster the growth of startups and small businesses, enhancing economic development and job creation.

    Neequaye’s appointment comes after he resigned from his role as GBA president, citing personal reasons and the betterment of the association.

    His new role is expected to provide opportunities for businesses related to sports and other areas to develop.

    Roger Bannor has now taken over the role as acting GBA boss until elections are held and decided.
