Lawyers for famed televangelist Patricia “Nana Agradaa” Asiamah have officially filed a notice of appeal against the Accra Circuit Court’s July 3 conviction and 15-year prison sentence for defrauding by false pretense and charlatanic advertisement.

According to media reports on July 7, 2025, lead counsel Richard Asare Baffour described the judgment as a “travesty of justice,” arguing that it was “unreasonable” and lacked sufficient evidential support.

He further accused the trial judge, Justice Evelyn Asamoah, of demonstrating “manifest bias” by allegedly harassing and intimidating Agradaa during the proceedings.

“We filed the petition of appeal this morning because the judgment delivered by the court is so unreasonable, and the evidence on record does not support it.

“We have also stated that the trial as a whole is wrong in law, and we are saying that the judge demonstrated manifest bias by harassing and intimidating the accused,” he said.

The petition, filed at the High Court, seeks to overturn both the conviction and the sentence.

Additionally, the legal team has indicated plans to apply for bail in the coming days to secure their client’s temporary release while awaiting the outcome of the appeal.
