The Director-General of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA), Brigadier General Paul Seidu Tanye-Kulono, on Monday, July 7, 2025, led a team to inspect the ongoing rehabilitation works on three critical road corridors within the Port of Tema enclave.
The inspection covered the Mankoadze roundabout to Harbour roundabout road, the Harbour Roundabout to GHACEM road, and the Terminal 3 to Terminal 2 access road.
The Harbour roundabout to GHACEM road, which serves as a vital artery for heavy-duty vehicles, is being rehabilitated to improve traffic flow, enhance safety, and support the smooth movement of goods.
A highlight of the inspection was the Terminal 3 to Terminal 2 access road, a strategic link road designed to directly connect the two major terminals. Once completed, the new road is expected to significantly cut down transit times between the terminals and facilitate smoother container transfers.
Brigadier General Tanye-Kulono also inspected the breakwater being constructed at Terminal 2 and indicated that he was impressed with the rate of work at the various construction sites. He urged contractors to expedite the work to ensure they complete them on time.
He also reaffirmed GPHA’s commitment to maintaining and upgrading critical infrastructure within the port environment to support Ghana’s growing maritime trade.
The ongoing projects form part of a broader infrastructure improvement plan aimed at boosting accessibility to the Port of Tema, reducing container congestion, and enhancing the overall experience for port users.
