Ghanaian musician and actress Yaa Jackson has asked the public to stop dragging her father into conversations about her lifestyle choices.

Speaking in an interview with Zionfelix, the “Ehwe Papa” singer said she has observed a trend where people keep asking her father why she dresses the way she does, often showing cleavage and skin.

According to her, she is a grown woman who is responsible for her own decisions, and no one should hold her father accountable for her actions.

She explained that some people even go as far as interviewing her father to question him about why he hasn’t spoken to her about how she presents herself.

According to Yaa Jackson, these actions are unfair, and she believes people should direct their concerns to her instead.

“Many people interview my dad and ask him about my choice to show cleavage and why he hasn’t discussed it with me. I feel like I am an adult and make my own decisions that I feel are authentic to me. If you have an issue with my choices, feel free to comment directly to me; my comment section is open for you. Please do not go and disrespect that legend,” Yaa Jackson stated.

She added that it hurts to see people focus only on her lifestyle while ignoring the good things her father has done, including raising a child who is now a pastor and nurturing talents in Ghana’s entertainment industry.

“I notice that people often overlook the praise he deserves for making stars or for the fact that one of his children is a pastor. I urge everyone to respect him and allow him to be who he is. If you have a problem with me, address it with me,” she said.

Yaa Jackson also noted that some of the people criticizing her might not be any better morally. She believes that in some cases, she may even be more religious or righteous than those who judge her.

“Some may criticise my actions, but it’s worth considering that I might be more righteous or religious than many of those who judge me. There are times when we hear about pastors we hold in high esteem doing things we wouldn’t expect, yet we might find it easier to believe if it were a worldly person but those may be some actions that I may not even be able to embrace myself.

“So, I ask you all to let my dad’s name be respected. I know I may be seen as the black sheep, and you can say whatever you want about me, but please keep my dad out of it,” she added.
