An old video of Evangelist Patricia Asiedua, popularly known as Nana Agradaa, has resurfaced on social media following her 15-year prison sentence for defrauding by false pretence.

In the video, which is now making rounds online, Nana Agradaa was captured in an interview with actor Kwaku Manu, speaking about her past experience as a fetish priestess.

She questioned why anyone would try to report a spiritual issue to the police or take it to court.

“Have you ever seen a spiritual case being settled at a police station or in court? If you go to the shrine seeking something and you don’t get it, how can you go and report it to the police? What can they do for you?” she asked in the interview.

The resurfaced video has caught massive attention due to how it contrasts with her current situation; being convicted for defrauding people through spirituality.

In her ‘famous’ interview with Kwaku Manu making rounds on social media, Agradaa explained further that being a successful fetish priest has more to do with being smart than anything spiritual.

She argued that money rituals are not magical but rather about using one’s brain wisely.

“Any fetish priest who is poor has gods that lack wisdom. When you bring your gods to lead you as a fetish priest, you need to be smart. Money rituals depend on how cleverly you can maneuver with your mind. I’m not afraid to say it; this is the truth,” she said.

She also spoke about how she sees herself as blessed and intelligent, stating that despite public criticism, she believes she has done nothing wrong.

Agradaa expressed no sympathy for people who lose money through spiritual scams, especially when they don’t support their churches but are willing to give large sums to a shrine.

“Personally, I believe God has blessed me greatly. Despite people cursing and slandering my name, I have done nothing wrong. If someone carries GH¢2,000 to the shrine but doesn’t even contribute during offertory in church, how can you have any sympathy for that person? I don’t feel sorry for anyone who chooses to go to the shrine,” she added.

    Background

In 2022, Agradaa promised members of her church that she could double their money at an all-night service.

Several individuals gave her money but never received anything in return, which led to her arrest and recent sentencing.
