Renowned Ghanaian satirist and media icon Kwaku Sintim-Misa, popularly known as KSM, has hailed the recent arrest of former GIHOC Managing Director Maxwell Kofi Jumah, calling it a pivotal moment in the nation’s ongoing battle against entrenched corruption.

Jumah was taken into custody by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) on June 29, 2025, over allegations of state asset theft, including the acquisition of a Genesis G90 luxury vehicle reportedly purchased at just 5% of its actual market value.

Addressing the issue in a video on his YouTube platform, KSM did not mince words. He blasted the entrenched mentality among some public officials who see political appointments as gateways to personal enrichment.

“This was a mentality that they’re here to reap and loot the country. Even with nothing to loot, the little that was there, they took,” he said, adding that while his remarks weren’t meant to be personal, he welcomed the news of Jumah’s arrest.

“It’s nothing personal, but I was happy to know that work is being done and that Kofi Jumah has been picked up by National Security in Kumasi. Work is being done, and he is not the only one,” KSM said.

He expressed hope that such arrests would become part of a broader accountability campaign that targets all who exploit public office. “If those who looted are being picked up one by one, that will send a signal that Ghanaians are sick and tired of being sick and tired, and they are saying ‘never again,’” he declared.

KSM also delivered a pointed warning to the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), urging the party to ensure its officials do not fall into the same patterns of abuse.

“If the NDC’s appointees adopt this mindset, it’ll be a monumental disaster,” he cautioned.

He ended his monologue with a call for unity and a renewed national purpose, urging politicians and citizens alike to move beyond partisanship. “Resetting means thinking as one nation, one destiny. Stay focused; this isn’t the season for political games,” KSM said.
