Entrepreneur and philanthropist, Gabriel Tanko Kwamigah-Atokple, has called for more foreign investments in Ghana, highlighting it as an “economically fertile” land.

He said this as he welcomed a distinguished delegation from Miami, USA, to Ghana in what he described as a symbolic homecoming and an opportunity to strengthen transatlantic ties.

The delegation, led by Ambassador Nancy Quartey-Sam, included influential leaders, changemakers, and the Mayor of Garden City, Miami.

In a post on his Facebook handle on June 27, 2025, Kwamigah-Atokple noted that the visit reflects a growing desire among the diaspora to reconnect with their African roots and explore investment opportunities in Ghana.

Speaking during the visit, Kwamigah-Atokple shared Ghana’s historical journey from colonial rule to independence, highlighting the country’s commitment to peace, democracy, and economic growth.

“As a historian, I shared a glimpse of Ghana’s story, one of resilience, rich heritage, and democratic progress. I reflected on our journey from colonial rule to independence, and our unrelenting commitment to peace, democracy, and economic stability,” he sated in his Facebook post.

He assured the visitors of Ghana’s political stability and its openness to both local and foreign investment.

“I assured our guests of Ghana’s warm hospitality and stable investment climate. Ghana is not only politically peaceful, having consistently held elections, but also economically fertile, welcoming both local and foreign investments,” he said.

He also praised the leadership of President John Dramani Mahama, noting that Ghana’s vision for development and global collaboration has gained international admiration.

“I was humbled by the words of encouragement from the Mayor of Garden City, Miami, who commended our development efforts and reaffirmed the delegation’s belief in the vision we are pursuing for Ghana.

“It was particularly gratifying to know that Ghana’s commitment to business development and global partnerships under the great leadership of H.E President John Dramani Mahama thus far has resonated with our guests,” he said.

Kwamigah-Atokple concluded with an appeal to the diaspora, stating, “Return, invest, build, and reconnect. You are not just visitors, you are kin.”

The visit is expected to open new avenues for deeper collaboration between Ghana and communities in the United States, especially in areas of investment, cultural exchange, and heritage tourism.
