Portugal International, Cristiano Ronaldo, is set to extend his contract with Al-Nassr for two more years, as his current deal expires at the end of June.

In a post on his X on June 26, he said, “the chapter is over.”

He made the statement on social media after Al-Nassr’s final Saudi Pro League game on June 25, sparking speculations about his potential departure.

However, the rumours have been put to rest as it appears he may be staying at the club.

FIFA president Gianni Infantino had suggested that 40-year-old Ronaldo might join a different team competing in the expanded Club World Cup in the US, after Al-Nassr failed to qualify.

Ronaldo also disclosed that he received offers from teams participating in the Club World Cup but declined their offers.

After helping Portugal win the UEFA Nations League recently, Ronaldo appears resolute to stay in Saudi Arabia and is reportedly exploring potential sports investment opportunities in the region.

Ronaldo joined Al-Nassr in 2023 after the termination of his deal with Manchester United.

He has scored 99 goals in 111 appearances for the Saudi club, including 35 in 41 matches last term, claiming the league’s Golden Boot award for top scorer.

Earlier on Wednesday, June 25, Al-Nassr parted company with Italian manager Stefano Pioli after less than a year in charge.

“Thanks for everything,” Ronaldo wrote on social media following news of Pioli’s exit.

The 59-year-old coach is set to take charge of former club Fiorentina.
