Controversial Ghanaian cleric, Pastor Love, has addressed long-standing allegations linking him to the death of the late gospel musician, Bishop Osei Bonsu.

In an interview with Kwaku Manu, shared on social media on June 23, 2025, Pastor Love, reflected on his past friendship with the late musician while recounting a dispute between them that reportedly ended in the trade of curses.

He explained that the misunderstanding arose from a controversy surrounding a song he had composed for the late musician.

Recalling the incident, Pastor Love said it all started when Bishop Osei Bonsu approached him after being diagnosed with a brain tumour and asked for a song to help raise funds for surgery.

“He came to me and said he had been diagnosed with a brain tumour. He asked me to compose a song so he could generate income from it to fund his surgery. I wrote the song and invested money in the recordings,” Pastor Love narrated.

He added, “He told me the song could bring in GH¢1 billion, so I gave him the master copy. I asked that he return GH¢200,000 to me and use the rest for his medical treatment.”

However, Pastor Love alleged that Bishop Osei Mensah Bonsu sold the song to a third party, Osewus, for GH¢700,000 without his knowledge or any form of payment.

“I was at Osewus one day when I heard the song playing. I asked about it and was told Bishop Osei Mensah Bonsu had sold it to them. When I confronted him, it led to a heated argument. I told him that if he didn’t pay me back, an angel without forgiveness would deal with him,”

Pastor Love said that despite his side of the story, the media massively sided with the late Bishop, portraying him (Love), as the villain.

“He started bleeding from the nose and went on several radio stations claiming I had cursed him. But the media never asked him what he did to provoke that reaction. I explained that he had duped me and I needed my money, but no one listened,” he added.

Pastor Love strongly denied any involvement in the gospel musician’s death and expressed disappointment in the media reports.

“Instead of advising him to return my money so I could pray for him, people spread rumours that I killed him. I had no hand in his death whatsoever,” he said.
