A man residing on Banana Island expressed his frustration after floodwaters disrupted a planned barbecue gathering.

In a video shared online, the man captured how a planned gathering transformed into a car-pushing activity in the floodwaters on the street in his residence.

The video recorded men assisting in pushing a car from the floodwaters into his compound, since the gathering was disrupted. The flood on the street was so extensive that it entered the vehicle.

After the car was pushed into the compound, the men engaged in a tedious task, using plastic containers to empty the water from the vehicle.

Since he lives on Banana Island, where he couldn’t escape floodwaters during the rainy season, he expressed his displeasure at how a planned barbecue gathering turned into a floodwater adventure.

Netizens were stunned at the frequent floodwater incidents on Banana Island despite its expensive housing system compared to the mainland.

    Below are some reactions,

@𝒮𝒲𝒜ℰ | Banana Island???So why tf are the lands so expensive

@jaadesoolaa Them say “money na water” you think say na ordinary quote 😭

@Qahrla So expensive, even the streets have swimming pools. 😍

@Trade with Kunmi📊💰 The rainy season is always hectic here, that’s the reason why I always go on vacation during Rainy Days

@Muniiraa 💕 The difference between Ikorodu and Island is the mud walaii 😂😂 at least your flood water is clear not muddy 😹😹
