Ghana’s senior women’s national football team, the Black Queens, have arrived in Benslimane, Morocco, to begin their final preparations for the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

The team touched down on Tuesday, June 18, and will spend approximately 14 days in camp, fine-tuning their tactics and building cohesion under the guidance of head coach Kim Lars

    Björkegren.

Not all the players have arrived in Ben Slimane to kickstart preparations, but the team is hoping for a full squad in the coming days.

The Black Queens are in Group C of the tournament, where they are paired with defending champions South Africa, Mali, and Tanzania.

During their stay in Benslimane, the team will play a series of friendly matches to test their strategies and build team cohesion.

Under the new coach Kim Lars, the Black Queens look to kick-start their campaign on a good note as they pursue their anticipated first-ever WAFCON title.

The 2025 WAFCON starts on July 5, with the final slated for July 28
