Ghanaian actress and entrepreneur Fella Makafui has shared the emotional story behind her rise to fame, revealing the setbacks, betrayal, and personal strength that shaped her early career.

In an interview with Pulse Ghana, the celebrated star recounted her difficult transition from the quiet town of Anfoega in the Volta Region to the bustling city of Accra, where she dreamt of becoming a successful actress.

Growing up, Fella helped her mother sell bread, and though her childhood was modest, she harboured ambitious goals.

Determined to change her story, she saved enough money to make the move to Accra in pursuit of stardom. Initially, she stayed with a close friend from her senior high school days.
However, that arrangement ended abruptly and painfully.

“I was staying with my close senior high friend, and one day she just said I should leave,” Fella revealed. “Nothing happened, we never had any issue, but one day she just woke up and said, ‘you got to go.’”

Left with nowhere to stay and no resources, Fella was forced to return to the Volta Region. But instead of letting the experience break her, she used it as fuel to push harder for her dreams.

Upon her return to Accra, Fella’s persistence paid off when she landed her breakout role in the popular youth series YOLO, which catapulted her into the limelight and opened doors to numerous opportunities in acting and business.

Now a successful actress, mother, and entrepreneur, Fella Makafui says her journey is a testament to resilience and self-belief. Her story continues to inspire many young Ghanaians who face similar challenges in pursuit of their aspirations.
