Local flight operator, Passion Air, have apologised to passengers who were on board flight OP 149 from Kumasi to Accra on June 14, 2025.

According to them, passengers experienced some discomfort due to moderate turbulence caused by the weather.

They attributed the turbulence to the rainy season and unpredictable weather variations.

“The current rainy season brings with it significant and sometimes unpredictable weather variations. These conditions include heavy rainfall, storms, strong high-altitude winds, crosswinds, and temperature fluctuations, all of which contribute to unstable atmospheric conditions.

“As such, our routes to and from Kumasi, Takoradi, Tamale, Sunyani, and Wa are more likely to encounter varying levels of turbulence during this period,” Passion Air said in a statement on June 15, 2025.

They noted that they are proactively monitoring weather patterns in close coordination with the meteorological and aviation authorities.

“While we expect mostly slight to moderate weather disruptions, rare instances of severe conditions may occur due to these natural weather changes

“Please be assured that the safety and comfort of our passengers and crew remain our highest priority,” the operator assured.
