Former Hearts of Oak midfielder, Frederick Ansah Botchway, has shared his thoughts on some of Ghana’s most talented footballers, making some intriguing choices between legendary players.

In an interview on Sports Check on GhanaWeb, Botchway was asked to choose between Michael Essien and Sulley Muntari.

Finding the decision incredibly tough, he opted not to pick one over the other.

Similarly, he struggled to decide between Essien and Stephen Appiah.

    However, some choices were clearer.

In defence, Botchway confidently chose John Mensah over Isaac Vorsah, praising Mensah’s exceptional leadership and defensive prowess.

Between Richard Kingson and Sammy Adjei in goalkeeping, Botchway opted for Kingson, citing his experience and shot-stopping ability.

Upfront, he chose Asamoah Gyan over Mathew Amoah, highlighting Gyan’s impressive goal-scoring record.

Botchway had no trouble picking Sulley Muntari over Laryea Kingston, and in another decisive move, he chose Dede Ayew over Mohammed Kudus.

He also opted for Derek Boateng over Thomas Partey, praising Boateng’s tenacious midfield play. In the full back comparison, Harrison Afful edged out John Paintsil.

When asked about his toughest opponent in the Ghana Premier League, Botchway revealed it was Appiah McCarthy from Ashanti Gold, a player he found particularly challenging to face.

On the topic of stadiums, Botchway chose the Accra Sports Stadium as the best he’s played in, praising its atmosphere and facilities.
