Ghanaian actress and musician Yaa Jackson is no stranger to controversy.

Over the years, she has been known for her provocative fashion choices and sultry images, which mostly receive harsh criticisms from a section of the public who believe her lifestyle does not reflect the values expected of a young Ghanaian woman.

After the backlash over the years, her father, veteran and award-winning movie director Jackson K. Bentum, has finally responded to the growing disapproval about his daughter’s image.

Speaking in a recent interview on SeanCity TV hosted by Ruthy and Busumuru Sean Kingston, Jackson K. Bentum made it clear that his hands are tied when it comes to dictating Yaa Jackson’s choices. “She’s over 18 now,” he said.

The seasoned director went on to explain that Yaa Jackson is not just living recklessly for no reason.

According to him, she is now deeply involved in the entertainment industry and has a management team that handles her affairs professionally.

He stressed that most of what the public sees as in, the provocative clothing, suggestive photoshoots, and social media posts, are often tied to her brand and the business of showbiz.

Interestingly, Mr. Bentum revealed a softer, more private side of his daughter that the public rarely sees.

He disclosed that since giving birth recently, Yaa Jackson has even toned down her style dramatically. “Even when we are shooting, she refuses to wear those provocative outfits these days. Motherhood has changed her a lot.”
