    A final-year student who has faced numerous challenges throughout his academic journey shares a recent frustrating experience as a student a Lagos State University (LASU).

    In a deeply distressing incident that sparked widespread outrage on the internet, final-year students from the agricultural department of Lagos State University (LASU) were subjected to a severe form of punishment by the dean of the department.

    In his words;

    “An extra year student who has seen shege had no choice but to lie down inside the rain to beg a dean.”

    According to the video, a final-year student was ordered to lie down in the rain begging after getting an extra year as a form of discipline.

    A directive that led to several other students experiencing severe emotional trauma and fainting in their hostels as a result of the incident.

    The State’s university is yet to release an official statement regarding the incident. However, public outcry from the students continues to grow with calls for an independent investigation and appropriate sanction.

    Social media users express their disbelief and anger over the dean’s disciplinary action, condemning the dehumanizing treatment and calling for accountability.

    Reminding the public of the importance of upholding human dignity and the need for educational institutions to foster conducive environments of respect and empathy in the educational sector.
