    Black Satellites to camp ahead of WAFU Cup

     The national U-20 male football team, Black Satel­lites will begin residential camping at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram today as preparations kick off for the maiden edition of the WAFU Cup.

    The tournament, which will fea­ture top youth teams from the West African region, is scheduled to run from June 15-30.

    Players invited for the camping are expected to report to the team’s base by 10am today, according to a statement released by the Ghana Football Association (GFA).

    According to the statement, the technical team has assembled a for­midable squad comprising players who recently represented Ghana at the 2025 TotalEnergies U-20 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt, bolstered by a crop of exciting new call-ups.

    This carefully selected mix of ex­perience and emerging talent is ex­pected to give Ghana a competitive edge at the regional tournament, as the team builds towards future con­tinental and global competitions.

    The selected players include Shaibu Rafique Issah-FC Samartex; Patrick Arthur-Nsuopun Fidelity FC; Gidios Aseako-Dreams FC; Baba Salifu Apiga-Accra Lions; Naxwell Azafokpe-Inter Allies; Benedict Adom-Kowa Naso; Ben­jamin Tsivanyo-Nsoatreman; Antwi Dacosta-Young Apostles FC; Nana Kwame Boakye-FC Sheriff and Desmond Obeng-Aduana FC.

    Others are Joel Awuah-Ener­gie Cottbus FC; Oscare Naasei Oppong-FC Granada; Joseph Aidoo-FC Sanatatea; Kwame Tabiri-FC Dordrecht; Abdul Manaf Ansah-Emmanuel City; Lord Afrifa-FC Sturm Graz; Ishmael Addo-Heart of Lions; Desmond Bortey-Golden Strikers FC; Hay­ford Adu Boahen-Cheetah FC, Fos­ter Apetorgbor-Nsoatreman and Andrews Agyabeng-Real Sociedad.

    The rest are David Frimpong Boison-Medeama SC; Kelvin Nkrumah-Medeama SC, Ed­mond Asante-Vision FC; Clinton Duodu-Apollon Limassol; Tahid Taryck Jordan-Vancouver FC; George Tei Nagdzi-Vision FC; Aziz Musibau-Dreams FC; Hayford Gyimah-King Faisal FC, Jerry Afriyie-FC Lugo and Razak Sali­fu-Dreams FC. –Ghanafa.org
