Popular entertainment pundit Arnold Asamoah Baidoo has strongly criticized his colleague Nana Frimpong Ziega over remarks made about King Promise’s win at the 26th Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA).

Arnold, who was absent from last week’s edition of UTV’s United Showbiz, wasted no time addressing the issue upon his return to the show on Saturday, May 24, 2025.

Taking Ziega to task live on air, Arnold described it as “disrespectful” for Ziega to claim that King Promise’s win as Artiste of the Year was undeserved and a bad precedent.

He reminded Ziega that the nomination itself was an acknowledgment of King Promise’s outstanding contribution to Ghanaian music in the year under review, and therefore winning the award was justifiable.

“The fact that King Promise was nominated means he met the criteria,” Arnold asserted.

The award-winning entertainment pundit further demanded that Ziega retract his comments and issue an apology to the TGMA organizers, stating that the integrity of the award scheme should not be undermined by unfounded opinions.

He emphasized that King Promise’s win was the result of a collective decision involving the TGMA board, academy, and the general public, saying, “If all three blocks agree he deserves it, who are you to say otherwise?”
