Ghana is set to take on rivals Nigeria in a semifinal clash on May 28 at the Gtech Community Stadium Ghana is set to take on rivals Nigeria in a semifinal clash on May 28 at the Gtech Community Stadium

Management Committee Chairman of the Black Stars, Randy Abbey, has confirmed that the Black Stars will kick off camping for the Unity Cup tournament on Sunday, May 25.

Ghana is set to take on rivals Nigeria in a semifinal clash on May 28 at the Gtech Community Stadium.

The winner will face either Trinidad and Tobago or Jamaica in the final on May 31 at the same venue.

Although the season has yet to conclude for most Ghanaian players in Europe’s top five leagues, Randy Abbey provided insight into the team’s itinerary while speaking to 3Sports.

“We had a meeting with the management committee, and the team will assemble in London on the 25th,” he said.

“They will have three training sessions before the first game on the 28th against Nigeria.”

Speaking on team news and squad expectations, Abbey said, “There are quite a number of players who are injured. There are also a few players engaged in qualifying games for Europe, so their clubs won’t release them. Mind you, this period is outside the FIFA free period.

“For those whose leagues are still in session and remain in contention, they might not be available, in addition to the injured players,” he added.

These games form part of Ghana’s preparation for the Matchday 7 and 8 games of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Mali in September, before wrapping up their matches against Comoros and the Central African Republic in October.
