Nana Agradaa has been at the center of some dollars controversy Nana Agradaa has been at the center of some dollars controversy

Evangelist Patricia Asiamah, popularly known as Nana Agradaa, the founder and leader of Heaven Way Chapel, has become the center of public discussion after receiving a substantial sum of US dollars from the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Gold Board, Sammy Gyamfi.

What was initially intended as a generous gesture has instead sparked controversy, with some Ghanaians and prominent individuals criticising the act and even calling for Gyamfi’s dismissal by the President.

A widely circulated video captures Nana Agradaa making a bold statement, “Who says a woman no dey?” as she flaunts the money.

The video shared on X, shows Gyamfi standing beside his white Range Rover, posing for a photo with Nana Agradaa, who had her arm around him. The two engaged in a brief conversation before Agradaa made a remark that prompted Gyamfi to open the back door of his vehicle and sat down to count several US dollar notes.

As he does so, Agradaa insists that he hands over all the notes instead of selecting a few. She then grabs the entire sum from his hands and flaunts the dollar bills to onlookers, declaring, “I have taken dollars from Sammy Gyamfi.”

Moments later, Gyamfi’s white Range Rover is seen speeding off.

Meanwhile, Sammy Gyamfi has issued an apology to Ghanaians for the large sum of money he gave to Nana Agradaa.

In a post shared on Sunday, May 12, 2025, Sammy Gyamfi acknowledged the massive criticisms that have followed the incident over the past 24 hours.

He explained that the gesture was meant to be a private act of kindness.

“Folks, I have taken notice of the wave of criticisms against my person in the last 24 hours. To clarify, this was simply a kind gesture to a fellow human being, in line with my daily and life-long custom of lending a helping hand to people in need,” he wrote.

He expressed regret that the act, which he believed was private, found its way into the public space.
