The Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) and Ghana Gas have confirmed a temporary disruption in gas exports from the Jubilee Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel, known as the Kwame Nkrumah FPSO, to the Atuabo Gas Processing Plant (GPP) following a technical fault.

In a joint statement issued on Sunday, May 11, 2025, the two institutions disclosed that the incident occurred around 4:30 PM on Saturday, May 10. The malfunction, described as a “technical issue,” triggered a system trip that briefly halted gas transmission to the Atuabo facility.

“The operator is making every effort to identify the root cause of the problem, implement the necessary corrective measures, and restore gas supply to the Atuabo GPP as quickly and safely as possible,” the statement said.

GNPC and Ghana Gas indicated that their technical teams are actively working with the FPSO operator to resolve the issue promptly. While the gas export system was affected, they assured that oil production on the vessel remains uninterrupted.

“We wish to assure the public that the oil production system on the FPSO remains unaffected and continues to operate steadily,” it added.

The two companies expressed their gratitude to stakeholders and the public, stating, “We appreciate your continued support and understanding.”
