Deborah Seyram Adablah was involved in a legal battle with a banking executive Deborah Seyram Adablah was involved in a legal battle with a banking executive

Deborah Seyram Adablah, a former National Service personnel embroiled in a widely publicised legal battle with top banking executive Ernest Kwasi Nimako, has reportedly been jailed for 45 days for contempt of court.

This follows a bench warrant issued by the Accra High Court over comments she made about the judge presiding over her case, as well as her refusal to hand over a vehicle to the court registrar.

According to a report by Joy News on its Facebook page dated May 6, 2025, Adablah has been arrested and sentenced to 45 days in jail for contempt of court.

Adablah’s legal troubles began after she filed a lawsuit against her former partner, Ernest Kwasi Nimako, a banking executive at the institution where she completed her National Service. She accused him of breaching promises made during their intimate relationship.

Her claims included demands for monetary compensation and ownership of a Honda Civic, which she said had been gifted to her.

On May 16, 2023, the court ordered Adablah to surrender the vehicle, with registration number GC 7899-23, to the court registrar for safekeeping pending the final determination of the case. However, reports indicate that she defied this directive.

Further aggravating her situation, Adablah released two videos on social media in which she launched personal attacks on the presiding judge, Justice John Bosco Nabarese.

In the videos, she accused the judge of bias and unprofessional conduct, questioned the integrity of Ghana’s judiciary, and dismissed the contempt proceedings as “dead on arrival.”
