Organizers of the 26th Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) have announced new red-carpet protocols aimed at enhancing the prestige and professionalism of the event.

Over the years, what has been the norm is that anyone who has a ticket to the show gets the opportunity to walk on the main red carpet and catch a moment of glitz.

However, for this year’s edition, only celebrities and dignitaries with official invitations will be permitted on the main red carpet according to a flyer they have released online.

Charterhouse, the event’s producers, revealed that there will be two distinct red carpet segments: one dedicated to general media interviews and photoshoots, and another, more exclusive, main session where the signature “Who are you wearing?” interviews will be held and televised.

Access to the latter will strictly require an official invitation.

According to them, this new measure is intended to streamline proceedings and elevate the overall quality of the red carpet experience.

In past editions, concerns have been raised about overcrowding and the inclusion of individuals lacking clear celebrity status, leading to disorganization and extended airtime.

Critics have also pointed to the inconsistent quality of fashion displayed.

By enforcing these new directives, Charterhouse aims to ensure a more curated, stylish, and well-structured red carpet segment for the 2025 TGMA.

The 26th edition of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards is set to take place on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre.
