The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), Malik Basintale, has stated that Portuguese football great Cristiano Ronaldo is a better player than Barcelona legend Lionel Messi.
He acknowledged that while Messi possesses exceptional football talent and has achieved remarkable feats globally, he is not his favorite player.
The YEA boss noted that the Real Madrid legend is the player he has admired for a long time since he began following football and watching matches.
Speaking in an interview with GHOne TV, when the journalist asked Basintale to choose between Ronaldo and Messi, he smiled for a moment and responded, “Messi or Ronaldo? Ronaldo.”
Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have been in a neck-and-neck rivalry for over a decade and a half, showcasing extraordinary quality and sparking an ongoing debate over who is the better footballer and can be considered the Greatest of All Time (GOAT).
Both players have won every major trophy and set numerous records throughout their careers. The only major trophy previously separating the two was the FIFA World Cup.
Messi completed his collection when he led Argentina to victory at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
