Nigerian writer and life coach Solomon Buchi has issued a thoughtful warning to women who may feel pressured by the lavish wedding of Priscilla Ojo and her partner, Juma Jux.
In a now-viral tweet, Solomon Buchi encouraged women to admire the beauty of the wedding but not allow it to influence their expectations, which can lead to unnecessary financial pressure for themselves or their partners.
Recall that social media influencer Priscilla Ojo and Tanzanian singer Juma Jux tied the knot in an extravagant wedding ceremony held in Nigeria, which quickly became the talk of the town.
However, Solomon Buchi saw it as an opportunity to dish out a couple of advice to women emphasizing that not all weddings need to be grand to be meaningful.
According to him, some wedding ceremonies could be held in a simple parlour, while others could feature multiple outfit changes and luxurious settings but both are perfectly valid, so long as they fit within one’s means.
His tweet read; “As you celebrate Priscilla and Juma’s wedding, I hope you don’t burden someone’s son with obsessing and wanting that kind of wedding. I hope you only admire it from afar, but are wise enough to know that you can’t have it that big and grand. I hope you don’t let the social media buzz pressure you. Some will have a parlour wedding, some will have a fairly decent wedding, some will wear two outfits, and others will wear 20 outfits, but let everyone be wise enough to cut their coat according to their cloth.”
