Highlife star Isaac Oteng, better known as Kofi Eiphos, made history on Easter Friday by starring in a mega Jesus Christ’s crucifixion play in ULM, Germany.
Easter, a cornerstone of the Christian faith, marking the resurrection of Jesus Christ following his crucifixion around 30 AD, is a time of profound reflection and celebration for billions worldwide.
While many commemorate the occasion through solemn church services and joyous family gatherings, the community in ULM brought the biblical narrative to life through a grand theatrical performance.
Kofi Eiphos stepped into the sandals of a Roman soldier in a monumental reenactment of Jesus Christ’s crucifixion in Germany, etching his name in history as the first Ghanaian musician to take part in such a magnificent production in the country.
Amidst a cast of seasoned German actors, Kofi Eiphos brought a unique energy and presence to his role. Though traditionally known for his enchanting stage performances filled with music and dance, he embraced the gravity of the Passion play with dedication and intensity.
Speaking to Hotfmghana after the performance, Kofi Eiphos expressed his profound gratitude for the opportunity.
He said: “It was an honour, a truly humbling experience… To be part of telling such a powerful story, especially during Easter, is something I will never forget. The dedication of the entire cast and crew was inspiring, and I am so grateful for the warm welcome I received.”
He is known for songs such as ‘Dj 50,50’ and ‘Afehyiapa”.
