The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, has joined forces with the creative arts industry to pay tribute to actors who have passed away in the course of their careers.

A video shared on X on April 18, 2025, shows the minister dressed in white, holding a candle alongside other stakeholders to commemorate the ceremony.

Veteran Kumawood actors and producers, including Naana Hayford, Michael Afrane, and Samuel Kwesi Nyamekye, were also present at the vigil to pay their respects to these fallen stars.

The vigil was part of the minister’s AshantiFest initiative, which coincided with the Easter Weekend.

Leading up to the event, several activities, such as boxing matches, football games, and an electrifying jama competition, were held to the delight of attendees.

Scores of netizens have since expressed their admiration for Dr. Amoakohene’s initiative, applauding him for his efforts to rejuvenate creative sector in the region.
