Former Ghana international Frimpong Manso has offered words of advice to Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Benjamin Asare, urging him to maintain his impressive form and momentum following his debut for the Black Stars.
Asare has had a successful start to his international career, recording clean sheets in Ghana’s 5-0 win over Chad and 3-0 victory against Madagascar.
Manso, who is currently the head coach of Bibiani Goldstars, believes Asare’s current form is crucial in securing his spot in the national team.
“He’s doing well, but for me, he’s just now entering the squad,” Manso said. “Asare has had two good games. I hope he keeps his form and momentum ahead of the next international match.”
Manso also emphasized the importance of competition within the national team, stating, “There are other good players who are waiting for the opportunity and will grab it when it comes. So, if you get such an opportunity and don’t do the needful, you are likely to lose your spot.”
With Asare expected to be included in the Black Stars squad for the 2025 Unity Cup, Manso believes that maintaining his form could lead to a successful career.
“Asare isn’t a young guy, so if he continues performing well at the national level and makes the squad for the 2026 World Cup, his career will be very successful,” he added.
